Found on the album "Parachutes" released in 2000 The song that made Coldplay - "Coldplay"! This song marked their first big break and I still think it's an amazing song to this date.
"I Will Follow You Into The Dark" by Death Cab For Cutie
Found on the album "Plans" released in 2005 I love, love, LOVE this song! It's quiet, cute, short, sweet, and to the point. If you've never heard it, I promise you won't be disappointed.
From the album "Hospital Music" released in 2007 I really like and respect those artists who are able to create those longer songs that have so many different parts and seem to really tell a story. This is one of those songs. I remember that after the first time I popped this album into my car and listened to track 1, "Champions of Nothing" the only thought that came to my mind was ... wow...
Found on the album "Oracular Spectacular" released in 2008 Another song that must be added to this list of mine that is pure summer! I've loved this song since it first hit radio-land last summer and believe it will be always a part of my summer soundtrack.
"Alright" by Pilate (now known as Pilot Speed for legal reasons in the US)

This is an incredible song by one of my favourite Toronto-based bands. Todd Clark's voice is so absolutely amazing and almost haunting in this song --- but in the best way. Yes, it is a sadder song, but it's still most definitely list-worthy. Give it a listen!
Found on the album "Clumsy" released in 1997 I think it's safe to say that this is the song that really made OLP big and REALLY made my fall in love with the band. Yes, their debut "Naveed" was incredible, but when "Superman's Dead" was released, the band seemed to gain a whole new type of fan based that has remained with them to this day. An epic song for an epic band.. well, in my eyes.
Found on their new album "21st Century Breakdown" that was released in May of this year A fairly new single for Green Day that is still blasting through radio-land. This is the type of Green Day song that I just love and will love for many years to come.
