"Hey Jude" by The Beatles

Released as a single in 1968

Pretty much any song by The Beatles is timeless. I love and respect all of their music and what they have done for the music industry. "Hey Jude" is most definitely one of my favourites. For a little bit of change of pace.. try listening to the version done by Jim Sturgess and Joe Anderson for the movie "Across The Universe". They do an amazing job!

Day 22, Song #22

"Fake Plastic Trees" by Radiohead

Found on the album "The Bends" released in 1995

Let's take another ride back to the 90's.... one of the classic Radiohead songs. I love it. And to make it even better, every time I hear this song, I think of the movie "Clueless" because Cher made fun of her step-brother Josh because he was listening to his cheesy college music. hehehe Love that movie!

Day 21, Song #21

"The Lines You Amend" by Sloan

Found on the album "One Chord To Another" released in 1996

A cute song - short, sweet and to the point. By one of my favourite Canadian bands. Worth listening to if you haven't heard it before.

Day 20, Song #20

"Save Your Scissors" by City and Colour

Found on the album "Sometimes" released in 2005

I am not really a fan of Dallas Green with his Alexisonfire project, but his solo work ... love it. This guy has one hell of a voice and his songs are all great. This has to be one of my favourites and it definitely deserves a place on this list.

Day 19, Song #19

"My Favourite Book" by Stars

Found on the album "In Our Bedroom After The War" released in 2008

Another great song, by a great band -- formed with members of Broken Social Scene. This is another band who I was introduced to in my university days. I remember them playing in the campus university center in the middle of a day for a free show once! Oh how I wish I could go back to those days sometimes. This is a nice melow tune that helps to showcase a few of the things that makes Stars so great.

Day 18, Song #18

"The Trouble and The Truth" by Cuff The Duke

Found on the album "Life Stories for Minimum Wage" released in 2002


This song brings along many memories for me. I remember being introduced to Cuff The Duke for the first time in Guelph, my first year of university, when they opened for Sam Roberts at a small downtown bar. Was completely taken away from their music from the get-go and have been a fan ever since. I chose to add this particular song to my playlist as my roommate from my university days and I would "jam" all the time with our guitars and we'd play this song together a lot. She's now gone on to be a little rock star herself and I am well.... here. Those were the days...

Day 17, Song #17

"Neighbourhood #1 (Tunnels)" by The Arcade Fire

Found on the album "Funeral" released in 2004



An incredible song, from an incredible debut album! (I say that a lot don't I? lol) I was so proud to be Canadian when this album skyrocketed! I remember seeing this band play in my little campus bars and then next thing I know, they're HUGE! No playlist is complete without some Arcade Fire.
